Girls Forward Foundation is seeking dynamic and committed individuals to join its volunteer Fundraising Committee. Committee members will play an essential role in advancing the Foundation’s upcoming two-year national fundraising campaign by contributing their time, expertise, and networks. This is an exciting opportunity to support an organization driving systems-level change for girls across Canada through mentorship, inclusive programming, and research-driven advocacy.
As a committee member, you will support campaign strategy, donor engagement, and fundraising activities. Whether you bring expertise in philanthropy, corporate partnerships, marketing, community outreach, or personal lived experience, you will help mobilize resources and amplify the Foundation’s impact.

THE ROLE
- Position Title: Member at Large, Fundraising Committee
- Organization: Girls Forward Foundation
- Campaign: TBD
- Term: Two years
- Location: Virtual with potential in-person engagements
- Reports to: Committee Co-Chairs, Executive Director and Board of Directors; supported by Senior Fund Development Manager
CAMPAIGN OVERVIEW
Girls Forward is embarking on a two year fundraising campaign to scale the Foundation’s national impact. This includes expanding mentorship programs, creating inclusive sport and leadership opportunities, and driving advocacy initiatives rooted in research. Further details to be provided.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Engagement & Collaboration
- Attend and actively participate in quarterly committee meetings
- Provide input into campaign priorities, fundraising approaches, and donor strategies
- Champion the mission and values of Girls Forward in your networks and communities
Campaign Support
- Collaborate with Foundation staff and other committee members to support campaign planning and implementation
- Offer insights and expertise related to donor engagement, corporate partnerships, events, or storytelling
- Help identify opportunities for donor cultivation and community engagement
Fundraising & Stewardship
- Make a personal donation to the campaign at a meaningful level
- Leverage your network to connect Girls Forward to potential donors, partners, and sponsors
- Participate in donor meetings, events, and stewardship efforts as appropriate
- Contribute to campaign momentum by staying engaged and helping celebrate key milestones

- Major Gifts or Philanthropy Specialist: Experienced in donor strategy, relationship building, or campaign development
- Corporate Partnerships Lead: Strong business acumen and corporate connections, with a passion for social impact
- Public Relations & Storytelling Advisor: Skilled in media relations, public storytelling, and amplifying campaign visibility through traditional and digital platforms
- Event or Community Fundraising Champion: Grassroots organizer or peer-to-peer fundraiser with a creative approach
- Finance or Legal Professional: Offers insight into strategic giving, donor agreements, or risk management
- Influencer or Connector: A well-networked individual passionate about opening doors and rallying support
You may align with one or more of these areas.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong commitment to the mission and values of the Girls Forward Foundation
- Experience or interest in fundraising, donor relations, or nonprofit development
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Comfort engaging your network in support of a shared cause
- Willingness to contribute your expertise and time
TIME COMMITMENTS
- Quarterly committee meetings (virtual or in-person)
- Participation in campaign events or activations
- Ongoing engagement in donor cultivation and stewardship (estimated 3–5 hours/month)
