LULULEMON COMMUNITY WELLBEING GRANT RECIPIENT (2025)

Girls Forward Foundation is thrilled to announce that we have received funding from lululemon’s Community Wellbeing Grant. This support represents a transformative opportunity for our organization to empower the next generations of girls in sport and deepen community connections.

Girls Forward’s Vision for the Youth Mentorship Program

Our funded program, the Youth Mentorship Program will span throughout 2025. This initiative brings our mentorship plan to life and marks a significant step forward in ensuring our mission endures for years.

Through this project, we will:

  1. Directly benefit a minimum of 60, up to 120 participants, comprising 30-60 youth paired with an equal number of Role Models, resulting in 30-60 mentorship pairs
  2. Increase our total number of mentor/mentee pairings by a minimum of 150%
  3. Have the capacity to launch the program Canada-wide
  4. Improve mental and social well-being of youth participants
  5. Strengthen mentorship relationships and support networks (social belonging)
  6. Enhance skill development in youth participants

To ensure impact, we will:

  1. Implement pre- and post-program surveys for both youth and mentors, focusing on key indicators such as personal growth, skill development, physical, mental and social well-being
  2. Track participation rates, retention, and geographic diversity
  3. Gather ongoing feedback to continuously refine and strengthen the program

This funding comes at a pivotal time for Girls Forward. The landscape of girls’ participation in sport is shifting, and we are committed to leading the charge in creating inclusive, empowering spaces for girls in sport and physical activity. By strengthening our capacity, programs, and mentorship infrastructure, we can amplify our impact and reach. This project is not just about participation; it’s about building a future where every girl feels seen, supported, and empowered.

We extend our deepest gratitude to lululemon for recognizing the importance of our work and investing in our future. This support is a testament to the power of collaboration and a shared commitment to advancing gender equity while fostering welcoming spaces for girls in sport.
