THE ROLE
- Role: Brand and Partnerships Manager, 1 Year Fixed Term with potential for renewal
- Location: Remote (work from anywhere in Canada), with a preference for those based in Calgary, AB, Vancouver, BC or Toronto, ON
- Reports to: Executive Director
- Compensation: $50,000 – $60,000 annual salary plus additional benefits.
- Overview: The Brand & Partnerships Manager plays a key leadership role in advancing Girls Forward Foundation’s brand, visibility, and revenue growth through strategic marketing, communications, sponsorship, and partnership initiatives. This role is responsible for leading Girls Forward’s external brand strategy and positioning, while building and managing corporate partnerships and sponsorship opportunities that support organizational sustainability and impact. Working cross-functionally with leadership, programs, fund development, and communications, the Brand & Partnerships Manager will help strengthen Girls Forward’s reputation as a national leader in girls’ sport and physical activity. The successful candidate is a strategic thinker, strong relationship builder, and creative communicator who thrives in dynamic and collaborative environments. They are passionate about gender equity, community impact, storytelling, and building authentic partnerships that align with organizational values and mission. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
BRAND STRATEGY & ORGANIZATIONAL POSITIONING
- Lead the implementation and ongoing evolution of Girls Forward’s brand strategy and external positioning.
- Ensure consistent brand messaging, storytelling, tone, and visual alignment across all organizational platforms and initiatives.
- Strengthen Girls Forward’s visibility and reputation as a national leader in girls’ sport and physical activity.
- Oversee organizational brand standards and support the development of key messaging frameworks and communication tools.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify strategic opportunities to elevate the organization’s profile and impact nationally.
CORPORATE PARTNERSHIPS & SPONSORSHIP
- Lead corporate outreach, prospecting, and relationship development efforts to support organizational growth and sustainability.
- Develop sponsorship strategies, partnership packages, proposals, presentations, and activation opportunities.
- Build, manage, and steward meaningful relationships with corporate sponsors and strategic partners.
- Support sponsorship fulfillment, reporting, recognition, and partnership activations across programs, events, and campaigns.
- Track sponsorship and partnership pipelines, opportunities, and revenue goals.
- Contribute to annual organizational revenue targets through partnership and sponsorship development.
MARKETING, COMMUNICATIONS & MEDIA STRATEGY
- Lead organizational marketing, communications, and promotional strategy across campaigns, programs, events, and initiatives.
- Oversee social media and digital media strategy, including audience growth, engagement, analytics, and performance tracking.
- Support the planning and execution of awareness campaigns, fundraising campaigns, and organizational storytelling initiatives.
- Identify and coordinate media opportunities, interviews, public relations initiatives, and external visibility opportunities.
- Ensure consistent brand messaging, storytelling, and communications alignment across all public-facing channels and materials.
- Manage communications and digital content staff, contractors, agencies, and/or vendors, providing leadership, guidance, and strategic direction.
- Support the development of communication plans, content strategies, and audience engagement initiatives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with the Programs, Fund Development, and Leadership teams to align messaging, campaigns, partnerships, and organizational priorities. In particular, work collaboratively with Fund Development to share resources, align on donor and sponsor engagement strategies, and leverage shared opportunities that benefit both fundraising and partnership objectives.
RETAIL, COMMUNITY & BRAND EXPANSION
- Explore and support retail, merchandise, and brand partnership opportunities that increase visibility, engagement, and revenue.
- Oversee merchandise development and coordination, including product design mockups, approvals, ordering, reordering, and vendor communication.
- Manage merchandise and retail inventory tracking to support organizational needs, events, campaigns, and activations.
- Identify opportunities for collaborative campaigns, branded experiences, and community activations.
- Support relationship-building opportunities within the sport, wellness, education, media, and corporate sectors.
- Ensure partnerships, merchandise, and campaigns authentically reflect the communities Girls Forward serves and align with organizational values and brand standards.
ANALYTICS, REPORTING & GROWTH
- Monitor and report on sponsorship, partnership, media, campaign, and digital performance metrics.
- Use data and insights to inform outreach, marketing, partnership, and growth strategies.
- Track campaign effectiveness, audience engagement, sponsorship outcomes, and organizational visibility.
- Support organizational reporting and impact storytelling through communications and partnership data.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3–5+ years of experience in brand management, partnerships, sponsorship, marketing, communications, business development, or related fields.
- Experience developing and managing corporate partnerships and sponsorship opportunities.
- Strong understanding of marketing, branding, digital media strategy, and communications.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects, campaigns, and external relationships.
- Experience managing staff, contractors, agencies, or external vendors is considered an asset.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Passion for gender equity, youth empowerment, sport, physical activity, and community impact.
- Experience working within the charitable, non-profit, sport, or community sector considered an asset.

COMMITMENT
- Location: Remote (work from anywhere in Canada), with a preference for those based in Calgary, AB, Vancouver, BC or Toronto, ON
- 37.5 hours per week.
- Must be willing to work on weekends and evenings on occasion
- Must be willing to travel to programs and events on occasion
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Compensation: $50,000 – $60,000 annual salary
- 1-year fixed-term employment with potential for renewal, subject to funding and performance
- 15 days of vacation + min. 2 weeks off between December 24 – January 1
- 4 personal days and 8 sick days per year
- $1,200 yearly employee health spending account, $100 monthly cellphone and internet allowance
- Medical benefits package – currently under review
WORK ARRANGEMENT
- Location: a blend of remote and in-person needs. Travel within Canada may be expected to support program and/or event delivery.
- 12-month contract, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and organizational needs.
